Chad J. Hathaway, Co-Founder
Mr. Hathaway is the owner and founder of Hathaway LLC and Payzone Directional Services. In 2011, 2012 and 2013 Hathaway LLC was named the fastest growing privately owned company in Kern County by Inc. Magazine and was named the TEEMCO 2013 West Coast E&P Company of the Year.
Chad is the co-founder of Kern Citizens for Sustainable Government and the Kern County Energy Foundation. He also currently serves on the Board of California Independent Petroleum Association. Mr. Hathaway has historically invested in oil and gas operations, agriculture, water conservation, land, minerals, oil and gas services, real estate (multi and single family), equipment rental and water.
Gene J. Voiland, Co-Founder
Mr. Voiland is currently Chairman of the Board of Valley Republic Bank where he has served as a member of the Bank’s Board of Directors since 2008. Mr. Voiland previously served as President and CEO of Aera Energy LLC for more than 10 years.
Prior to his service at Aera, Mr. Voiland had a distinguished 28-year career at Shell, working as an engineer and manager throughout the United States. He also held senior management positions with Shell, having been appointed General Manager of Engineering and General Manager of Corporate Planning. Mr. Voiland is on a number of for profit and nonprofit boards, and is a management consultant. He is also a board member of Berry Petroleum Company, LLC and Saltchuk Resources, a transportation, energy, and real estate investment and management company. He is active in state and community affairs, serving on several local non-profit boards. He is Past Chairman of the California State Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Voiland is a 1969 graduate of Washington State University with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. He is a member of the WSU Foundation Board of Directors and the Chairman of the WSU Foundation Investment Committee.
John McLoughlin, Land Manager
Mr. McLoughlin has served as the Land Manager for Kern Enterprises, LLC since February 2017. He also has been the Land Manager at Hathaway LLC for the same time period. He previously worked for Bonanza Creek Energy, Inc. in Denver, Colorado, and as a contract Landman in the Rocky Mountain region. Mr. McLoughlin has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Land/Energy Management from Colorado Mesa University, where he attended on a baseball Scholarship.
